Aged care legislation and policies play a vital role in our work. Subject to being passed in Parliament, a new Aged Care Act is planned to start on 1 July 2024.
The Commission works under the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission Act 2018 and the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission Rules 2018.
The Aged Care Act 1997 outlines the obligations and responsibilities aged care providers must follow to receive subsidies from the Australian Government.
Subject to being passed in Parliament, a new Act is planned to start on 1 July 2024.
